Description
An MDB (Main Distribution Board) is a panel or enclosure that contains fuses, circuit breakers, and ground leakage protection devices. It receives electrical energy from a transformer or an upstream panel to distribute power to various individual circuits or consumer points. Typically, an MDB may have one or more incoming power sources and includes main circuit breakers as well as residual current or earth leakage protection devices, depending on client specifications. The MDB consists of a free-standing enclosure, a bus bar system, MCCBs, metering equipment, support components, and necessary current transformers. The panels are organized systematically, including an incomer section and outgoing section.
